Is GTrends Assassin a Flash in the Pan?

A new Internet marketing product, GTrends Assassin, launched a couple of days ago. In short, GTrends Assassin is a script that analyzes Google Trends and builds hundreds, eventually thousands of keyword rich web pages -- all embedded with your affiliate links for Clickbank, Amazon and possibly others.

The publisher says the scrips bring in about $200 a month, per domain. Perhaps more, he says, if you are lucky. Although this is not a fortune, it is a tidy little sum of money, given that you have have no work to do other than install the script initially. And -- since we're talking PER DOMAIN, well you do the math.

GTrends Assassin requires an existing web domain that has been under-performing, but is listed in Google already. It's a way to start monetizing web sites that have been collecting cyber dust.

Although I believe that this script can do what it claims to do, I do not think it is going be a long term solution to anyone's financial challenges.

Yes, it likely will generate short term cash, but there are some pitfalls to be aware of.

First, this script is a form of auto-blogging. It generates huge numbers of keyword-rich pages based on snippets of text it has garnered from Google searches and other content. Therefore, these pages will be largely -- well, junk.

I cannot imagine that Google will be thrilled about these types of sites. It will be only a short time before Google technology catches on to what is happening and drops your domain from the search results.

At that point, you will need to find other existing domains that you can use until they, in turn, are dropped. Unless you have tons of under performing web sites of your own, you will be buying unwanted sites from other people.

It may be worth it. It may not.

This is just my opinion. I leave it up to you to decide.

Regardless, I think the GTrends Assassin product picture is a winner! It's quirky enough to appeal to me.
